CARLO BUTI has reigned for two decades as one of the most favored singers of popular songs throughout Italy — and the Continment.
He has recorded hundreds of memorable selections down through the years, and in this carefully selected long-playing album for Capitol, twelve of his greatest successes are presented together. Some are old, from the 1930s. Others are more recent. All are superb examples of the golden, emotional Buti style.
Born in Florence, Buti as a youth worked as a goldsmith. Long after he made his professional debut at the Teatro Apollo in Florence he continued to study, his trade. Finally, however, he abandoned the craft after an overwhelmingly successful tour of Italy which included almost riotous concerts in Naples.
Buti has been recording since 1933 for the Italian Columbia label in Milan. In 1956, he was co-featured with Maria Fiordaliso in his first Capitol album, When In Rome...
Now, with Italian Amata, the great Buti stands alone.

Da oltre vent'anni Carlo Buti ha regnato come il piu popolare cantante di canzoni, io Italia ed il Continente.
Ha inciso centinaia di melodie indimenticabili attraverso gli anni, ed in questo disco di lunga durata compilato con gran cura, la Capitol presenta dodici dei suoi piu giandi successi.
Alcune canzoni sono vecchie, del 1930. Altre piu reeenti. Tutte sono esempi superbi dello stile magnifico ed emozionante di Buti.
Nato a Firenze, Buti fu orefice di professione nella sua giovinezza. Anche molto tempo dopo di aver debuttato come cantante professionale al Teatro Apollo di Firenze, egli continuo a studiare il suo mestiere. Finalmente, dopo un esorbitante successo ottenuto in una tourne attraverso l'Italia con concerti quasi tumultuosi a Napoli, egli decise di abbandonare il suo mestiere.
Buti incide per la casa italiana Columbia con sedi in Milano, fin dal 1933. Nel 1956, e apparso assieme a Marisa Fiordaliso nel suo primo album Capitol, intitolato When in Rome...
Ora, con Italia Amata, il grande Buti si erge solo.
